Description
Night was falling softly over the port near The Hague (North of the Netherlands). The ground was still giving off the heat gathered from the beautiful fall day, rare in this part of northern Europe. A cortege of dark limos slid slowly along the quay to where two ferryboats were waiting.
The prosecutor general got out of one of the limos, followed by Tom Dorvan, his new deputy, who was just managing to hide his growing anxiety … But for how long?
The superbly illuminated luxury liner they were heading toward, moored a few hundred meters from the shore, hid a shameful secret.
If Tom had ever suspected his well-ordered world was about to crumble around him so soon after the reception they’d all be invited to, and that he’d be forced to defy the legend of Icarus in a desperate life-and-death struggle, he’d never have set foot on the ferryboat. He wouldn’t even have accepted his recent appointment as deputy.
But fate has decreed otherwise …
