Description
A life dedicated to health and well-being
In the late 1950s, a young swiss woman of quiet determination, Dr. Jane Basset, was entrusted with a major mission: to supervise health programs in many of the country’s schools. Visionary, inspiring, and deeply compassionate, she became involved in the creation and development of medical-social organizations in 1965, contributing to the birth of the first “Medico-Social Centers” – systems where kindness and competence come together to allow patients to remain at home, surrounded and accompanied.
But Jane Basset didn’t stop there. Driven by a deep sense of justice, she became involved in politics to change laws and adapt social systems to human realities. Her commitment led her to the Canton (District) Council where she lived, where she sat with the conviction that lasting change always comes from understanding the needs of others.
Curious about everything that could relieve and heal, she constantly broadened her horizons and her knowledge: first graduating in acupuncture in the 70s, then in digitopuncture, lymphatic drainage, then in the discipline “Touch For Health” (an osteopathic variant to reactivate the natural energies of the human body) with the founder of the method, Dr. John F. Thie.
Sharing her life with two brilliant doctors —a specialist in internal medicine and a renowned surgeon from her city’s university hospital—she led a rich and passionate life, without ever marrying. A mother of two, she continued her professional activity until she was almost 90, with the same energy and curiosity.
Now 95 years old, still lively and in good health, she believes she has the necessary perspective and legitimacy to share her longevity advice.
“You can only talk about something and recommend it after having experienced it yourself”, she likes to point out.
She also always wonders how a person aged 30, or even 60, can be credible when they have no idea of the changes their advice will produce in the next 10, 20 or 30 years!
The My Ebook Place team has had the privilege of compiling her teachings and is currently finalizing the transcription of her interviews, as well as the valuable personal lessons she gave, based on her lived experiences, patiently recorded in some twenty binders filled with notes and observations. While she is comfortable using her tablet, she preferred to entrust us with the writing of her book, while retaining the freedom to make changes at any time.
And because the Covid period has weakened many people, and winter is returning with its procession of respiratory ailments of all kinds, we have decided to publish, as a preview, an excerpt from her book, an exclusive mini-guide dedicated to this problem to help all those who are affected by it.
Only a few pages… but the fruit of more than 70 years of experience, practice, and adjustments. A concentrate of effectiveness and wisdom to stop the onset of a cold, tonsillitis, or allergic rhinitis in just two or three days, and quickly regain energy and serenity. And above all, avoid several weeks of coughing, fatigue, and potentially dangerous complications.
